Discover Colorado’s past at International Archaeology Day

Free Oct. 17 event at Red Rocks features exhibits, demonstrations and tours

Try a mock dig, meet archaeologists and explore history at International Archaeology Day on Saturday, Oct. 17.

The free, family-friendly event runs from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre, Lower South Lot #2, 18300 W. Alameda Parkway in Morrison.

Visit more than 40 exhibitors (including Douglas County), watch live tipi and earth watercolor demonstrations, and Indigenous dancing.

Park rangers will also lead free tours of areas of Red Rocks normally closed to the public and the historic Civilian Conservation Corps camp. Space is limited; check tour times and RSVP links.
